apl512733
Hella Marine Masthead/Anchor Navigation Pole Light, For Vessels under 20m, 12V, 2 NM, Fold-Down Pole Mount, 20 in, White Housing

Overview

The Hella Marine 995003071 is a fold-down combination masthead and all-round (anchor) navigation light on a 20 in pole for vessels up to 20 m (65 ft) in length. It runs on 12 V and is rated for 2 nautical mile visibility, with a base footprint of 2-3/16 in x 2-1/32 in for tighter mounting pads on the transom, cockpit coaming, or cabin top.

The pole folds through 180 degrees and locks in position, which helps when a full-height light would catch a cover, interfere with trailering, or get in the way at the dock. The housing and lens use plastic that resists UV and impact, the pole is anodized aluminum, and the assembly carries IPX6 water protection for rain and washdowns.

Key features

12 V navigation lamp with 2 nautical mile visibility for vessels up to 20 m (65 ft)

20 in (508 mm) fold-down pole with 180 degree adjustment and a locking collar

IPX6 water protection for wet weather and washdowns

Anodized aluminum pole with a housing and lens made from plastic that resists UV and impact

Compact base footprint: 2-3/16 in x 2-1/32 in

Pre-wired with a 100 mm cable lead for a clean deck-mount connection

Supplied with a 12 V / 10 W SV8.5 bulb

Installation and setup

Mount the base on a solid surface where the light has an unobstructed view and will not be shadowed by an outboard, bimini hardware, antennas, or fishing gear. A removable wedge is included to help match slightly curved or angled mounting surfaces so the lamp sits correctly when upright.

The short factory lead is intended to be joined inside the boat, below the mounting surface. Use marine-grade tinned wire for any extension, seal the splice with adhesive-lined heat shrink, and leave a drip loop so water cannot track along the cable into the mounting hole.

Compatibility and compliance

This light is part of a 2 NM system intended for boats under 20 m and aligns with common navigation-light requirements (including COLREG and USCG use cases). Confirm the correct light configuration for your boat length and layout, especially if this lamp is being used as an all-round white light at anchor, as part of an underway lighting arrangement, or both.

Use cases on board

This is a good match for trailerable powerboats, center consoles, RIBs, and small cruisers that need a pole light which can fold down to reduce snag risk under covers, during trailering, or when dealing with low bridge clearance.

Maintenance and care

Rinse with fresh water after salt exposure and check that the locking collar moves freely and holds the pole firmly upright. Replace the lamp with the correct 12 V / 10 W SV8.5 bulb when needed, and keep the lens clean so visibility stays consistent at night.

What’s included

Fold-down navigation lamp assembly with 20 in pole and base mount

12 V / 10 W SV8.5 bulb

Removable mounting wedge for cambered surfaces

Stainless steel mounting screws
