Overview
The Simrad 000-13942-001 is an in-hull 50/200 kHz depth transducer with a 9-pin connector for systems that use traditional sonar. It shoots through solid fiberglass, so there is no hole to drill below the waterline and nothing protruding outside the hull.
It runs at 600 W and uses 50 kHz for a wider cone and 200 kHz for a tighter cone. Beamwidth is about 45 degrees at 50 kHz and 12 degrees at 200 kHz, with typical depth capability up to roughly 1,000 ft at 50 kHz and 600 ft at 200 kHz when installation and conditions are right.
The adjustable base lets you align the element to hull deadrise angles up to 22 degrees so the beam stays pointed straight down. This style of transducer is intended for solid fiberglass hull sections up to 5/8 in (16 mm) thick and is not recommended for cored laminate.
Key features
- Dual-frequency 50/200 kHz traditional sonar for depth sounding on compatible displays and sonar modules
- 600 W output with an in-hull installation that keeps the exterior of the hull smooth
- Adjustable base for hull deadrise alignment up to 22 degrees
- Beamwidth of about 45 degrees at 50 kHz and 12 degrees at 200 kHz
- 9-pin connector with a 10 m (33 ft) cable for typical console and helm runs
- Specified for solid fiberglass hull sections up to 5/8 in (16 mm) thick and not recommended over cored areas
Installation and setup
Choose an inside-the-hull location that stays submerged at speed and sits away from turbulence caused by strakes, steps, intakes, or hull fittings. A fiberglass surface that is clean and flat matters here, since air pockets and uneven laminate can weaken returns.
The mounting base is bonded to the hull, then filled with a non-toxic antifreeze type liquid before the transducer element is seated. After the base is set, adjust the angle so the element is level to the waterline, then route the cable up to the 9-pin sonar port.
Compatibility and fit
This is a depth-only transducer and does not add a water temperature sensor. Before ordering, confirm your sonar display or module has a 9-pin transducer connection and supports 50/200 kHz traditional sonar.
On-board use
This setup suits boats that need dependable depth while cruising, fishing, or running on plane, and it keeps the transducer protected from trailer bunks, lifts, and floating debris. It also works well when you want depth information without adding drag or hardware outside the hull.
