Overview
The TACO Marine OI Series is a family of Open Water Internal & Collapsible Carbon Fiber Outrigger Poles for offshore trolling setups where clean rigging, quick breakdown, and reliable line handling matter. These poles are available in 19' and 22' lengths, use a 3-section construction, and collapse for storage, transport, bridge clearance, or dockside maneuvering.
Each pole is internally rigged with 400-pound mono halyard line in three colors, helping keep the rigging organized without exposed line hardware along the outside of the pole. The latching Twist & Lock connection joins the pole sections, while the adjustable base and butt help align the halyard and trolling spread once the poles are mounted.
The OI Series fits standard 1-1/2" outrigger mounts, including TACO outrigger mounts with a 1-1/2" diameter pin-locking arm and other mounts that accept 1-1/2" diameter poles. Port and starboard labels help simplify installation and reduce mix-ups when the poles are removed and reinstalled.
Key features
- Available in 19' and 22' lengths for matching the pole reach to the boat size, fishing style, and preferred trolling spread.
- Carbon fiber construction keeps weight down while maintaining the stiffness expected from offshore outrigger poles.
- 3-section collapsible layout makes the poles easier to remove, fold, store, and transport after a trip.
- Latching Twist & Lock section connection helps the pole sections set up with a secure feel before heading offshore.
- Internally rigged with 400-pound mono halyard line in three colors for cleaner line routing and easier line identification.
- Internal tube routing for each halyard line helps reduce tangles inside the pole during line movement.
- Adjustable base and butt allow the halyard line to be indexed for better alignment with the trolling setup.
- Port and starboard labeling helps keep the installation consistent when the poles are removed and reinstalled.
- Compatible with standard 1-1/2" outrigger mounts, including TACO mounts with a 1-1/2" pin-locking arm.
Variants
This product is offered in two length configurations within the same OI Series platform.
The length is the key difference between the variants. Both configurations share the Open Water internal and collapsible carbon fiber outrigger pole format, the 3-section layout, internal 400-pound mono halyard rigging, and black finish.
- OI-3190CF: 19' length. This shorter option suits boats where storage length, cockpit handling, or overall outrigger reach needs to stay more compact.
- OI-3220CF: 22' length. This longer option gives additional spread for offshore trolling layouts where more separation from the boat is useful.
Compatibility and fit
These poles are built around the common 1-1/2" outrigger mount size. They pair with TACO outrigger mounts that use a standard 1-1/2" diameter pin-locking arm and can also be used with other outrigger mounts that accept 1-1/2" diameter poles.
Before ordering, confirm the boat's existing outrigger bases accept 1-1/2" poles and that the selected pole length works with the hardtop, tower, antenna layout, storage area, and trailering routine. The collapsible construction is useful on boats that need the poles removed between trips or stowed when not fishing.
Use cases on board
The OI Series is a strong match for center consoles, offshore fishing boats, and sport-fishing setups that run trolling spreads or kite fishing gear and need clean internal rigging. The internally routed halyards help keep the outside of the pole cleaner, which is helpful around rod tips, lines, and crew moving through the cockpit.
For anglers who fish offshore but still need practical dockside handling, the removable and collapsible layout makes these poles easier to manage when returning to the marina, storing the boat, or transporting equipment.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater use, rinse the poles and halyard exits with fresh water and allow them to dry before storage. Check the Twist & Lock connections, halyard movement, and mount engagement as part of the regular fishing trip routine, especially before offshore runs where outrigger loads and vibration are higher.
