Overview
The Blue Sea Systems Mini OLED Ammeter is a compact DC current meter for 12V and 24V boat electrical systems, available with either a yellow or blue OLED screen. It monitors current from -100A to 100A DC with 0.1A resolution and ±2% accuracy, giving the operator a clear view of battery charge and load activity from a small panel-mounted display.
The meter runs from an 8-36V DC input range and draws 15mA, so it fits common DC distribution and battery monitoring setups without taking up much panel space. Its OLED face is waterproof, readable in daylight, and IP66 rated, which makes it practical for exposed helm panels, cockpit locations, and other areas where spray, glare, and quick checks are part of normal use.
Key features
- Measures DC current from -100A to 100A for tracking charging, discharge, and circuit load activity.
- Works with 12V DC and 24V DC systems across an 8-36V DC input range.
- OLED screen is waterproof and readable in daylight, with yellow and blue display options available.
- Mounts in a common 1-1/8 in hole, which is useful for helm panels, switch panels, and upgrades from small round accessories.
- Supports positive-side or negative-side wiring, giving installers flexibility around shunt placement and panel wiring.
- Reverse polarity protection helps reduce the risk of damage during installation.
- 0.1A resolution and ±2% accuracy make it useful for checking house loads, charging current, and unexpected draw.
- Rated for operation from -40°C to 70°C, suitable for hot enclosed panels and cold-weather use.
Variants
This Mini OLED Ammeter is offered in two screen color configurations.
The electrical measurement range, nominal voltage support, input voltage range, mounting hole size, accuracy, and operating current are the same across these two configurations. The screen color and OLED lifecycle differ by variant.
- 1732: Yellow screen color. The yellow OLED has a 100,000-hour lifecycle and gives the panel a warm display color that stands out well on many DC monitoring panels.
- 1732200: Blue screen color. The blue OLED has a 10,000-hour lifecycle and creates a cooler display appearance for panels using blue instrument lighting or matching blue digital meters.
Installation and setup
The 1-1/8 in mounting hole keeps installation straightforward on a dash, electrical panel, or nearby monitoring location. Plan the meter location where the readout can be seen without opening lockers or removing covers, and route wiring so vibration, strain, and service access are handled cleanly.
Because this is an ammeter, it reads current through a shunt rather than by simply connecting across a battery. The product supports positive-side or negative-side wiring, so the final layout should match the boat’s battery, charger, inverter, and DC panel arrangement.
Use cases on board
This meter is a good match for boats where the owner or installer wants a dedicated current display rather than a multi-function monitor. It helps at the helm, electrical panel, or nav station when checking alternator output, charger activity, inverter load, or the draw from lights, pumps, electronics, and other DC equipment.
