Overview

The Vimar Idea 2-module mounting frame is a flush-mount support for fitting two modules into a 3-module box or a 56 x 56 mm mounting box with 60 mm fixing centres. It accepts rear-mounted module inserts and can be installed horizontally or vertically, with space for 2 modules horizontally or 1 module vertically.

On board, this frame is used where you want a clean Vimar Idea installation behind the finished plate in a protected interior location. The body is made from thermoplastic, so it suits cabin, galley, head, and helm panel work where the box format and module count need to stay consistent across the boat.

Variants

This product is offered in four configurations.

Across the range, the mounting format, module capacity, and installation method stay the same. The differences are the visible color and whether the front face is grooved or smooth.

• VM16722: Gray frame with a grooved front. This version keeps a textured face that matches other grooved Idea trim.
• VM16722.B: White frame with a grooved front. It keeps the same textured front in a lighter finish for panels built around white devices and plates.
• VM16722.L: Gray frame with a smooth front. The smooth face gives the finished assembly a cleaner visual transition around the installed module.
• VM16722.L.B: White frame with a smooth front. This version combines the smooth face with a white finish for a more uniform look on light interior panels.

Compatibility and fit

This frame is intended for flush-mounted installation. It is not for a 60 mm round junction box, floor box, wall duct, or 35 mm DIN rail mounting, so the box style and fixing centres should match before the panel is closed up.

It is a good match for interior switch and outlet positions on yachts and workboats that use the Vimar Idea system and need a 2-module layout. The frame is most relevant where the finish matters as much as the fit, especially on visible cabin and console panels.
