Overview

The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD is a premium electronic chart for the VEU500S region, covering the English coast from Blyth to Lowestoft, plus the Humber River to Goole and the Trent River to Gainsborough.

It runs on compatible Garmin chartplotters and adds planning and situational tools like Auto Guidance route suggestions, Depth Range Shading for up to 10 depth ranges, Shallow Water Shading you can set to your own depth, and 1-foot contours where available.

High-resolution satellite imagery, aerial photography, and 3D views help when you are working into harbors and alongshore routes around areas such as Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Kingston upon Hull, The Wash, and Boston.

Variants

This chart is available in more than one delivery format.

The chart region and mapping feature set stay the same across the options; what changes is how you receive the chart and load it onto your Garmin system.

• 010-C0844-00: Format SD Card. This is a preloaded microSD/SD card that you insert into the chartplotter’s card slot to use the chart.
• 010-D0427-00: Format Download. This is delivered electronically and is loaded to a compatible chartplotter using the ActiveCaptain app, with chart data stored on a microSD/SD card in the unit.

Compatibility and fit

This cartography is intended for Garmin chartplotters that support BlueChart g3 Vision mapping. Your display must have a microSD/SD card slot available for chart storage.

Auto Guidance is a planning aid and depends on your chartplotter settings and the data available for the area. It does not replace keeping a proper lookout and navigating to local conditions.

Installation and setup

For the SD Card format, insert the card into the chartplotter and select the chart from the charting page. Keep the card in the unit while you are using that coverage.

For the Download format, pair your mobile device to the chartplotter through ActiveCaptain, download the chart over an internet connection, then sync it to the chartplotter when connected to the unit.
