SPARK PLUG (86-3133) transmits electric current from an ignition system to a spark-ignition engine's combustion chamber, allowing an electric spark to ignite a compressed fuel/air mixture while maintaining the engine's combustion pressure. The ignition system provides enough electricity to spark across the spark plug gap. It has a firing end temperature that is kept at a low enough level to prevent pre-ignition.
