Overview
The Jabsco NEMP50/7 is a magnetically coupled centrifugal pump for continuous clean-fluid transfer in AC-powered marine and industrial systems. It uses a seal-less magnetic drive, so there is no shaft seal in the pumped liquid path, which is useful where leakage control matters in machinery spaces, technical compartments, chilled-fluid loops, or chemical dosing and transfer setups.
The range covers 110 VAC and 230 VAC versions, 50 Hz and 60 Hz operation, and either plain 21 mm ports or 1/2 inch BSP male ports. Verified performance for the common configurations is up to 50 L/min with 6 m maximum head on 50 Hz versions, and up to 52 L/min with 6.8 m maximum head on the 60 Hz version. The pump uses a 0.06 kW motor, an IPX5-rated motor housing, and an entirely non-metallic wetted construction with polypropylene, PPS, alumina ceramic, and EPDM components.
This pump is for clean fluids only. It is not self-priming and is not made for dry running, so it should be installed below or near the fluid source with a flooded inlet where possible, and protected from solids, scale, and abrasive debris.
Key features
- Seal-less magnetic coupling helps reduce leak paths compared with shaft-sealed centrifugal pumps.
- AC motor options cover 110 VAC or 230 VAC installations, with 50 Hz and 60 Hz variants for matching the onboard or shore-supplied electrical system.
- Flow and head capability suits steady circulation or transfer work, with up to 50 L/min and 6 m head on 50 Hz versions, and up to 52 L/min and 6.8 m head on the 60 Hz version.
- IPX5 motor housing gives protection against water jets, which is useful in technical spaces where washdown spray or incidental moisture may be present.
- Entirely non-metallic wetted construction uses polypropylene, PPS, alumina ceramic, and EPDM for compatibility with many clean chemicals, chilled fluids, and treatment liquids.
- Compact body size of 214 mm long, 102 mm wide, and 143 mm high helps with installation in crowded lockers, service spaces, and equipment skids.
- Port options include plain 21 mm connections or 1/2 inch BSP male threaded connections, allowing the pump to match different plumbing layouts.
Variants
The Jabsco NEMP50/7 is offered in several AC configurations. The variants differ by voltage, supply frequency, and port style, so the correct version depends on the vessel electrical supply and the plumbing connection used in the installation.
The pump construction and general NEMP50/7 format remain consistent across these configurations, while the performance and motor match the selected frequency and voltage.
- 456904: 230 VAC, 50 Hz, plain 21 mm ports. This version suits systems using 230 VAC at 50 Hz where plain hose-style port connections are preferred.
- 446932: 230 VAC, 50 Hz, 1/2 inch BSP male ports. This version fits 230 VAC 50 Hz installations that use threaded BSP plumbing connections.
- 446951: 230 VAC, 60 Hz, 1/2 inch BSP male ports. This version suits 230 VAC 60 Hz systems and uses threaded BSP ports for a more direct connection to compatible fittings.
- 406955: 110 VAC, 50 Hz, 1/2 inch BSP male ports. This version matches 110 VAC 50 Hz systems where the installation uses 1/2 inch BSP male pump ports.
Installation and setup
Because this is a centrifugal pump, the inlet side needs careful attention. It should not be expected to lift fluid from a dry line, and it should not be run without liquid in the pump body. A flooded or well-fed inlet, short suction run, and clean strainer upstream can help protect the magnetic drive and internal ceramic spindle from jamming or premature wear.
Use the voltage and frequency shown for the selected variant when matching the pump to the vessel supply, generator output, inverter system, or dockside equipment feed. This is not a 12 V or 24 V DC pump, so it should be specified only where a suitable AC supply and marine electrical protection are already part of the system.
Fluid compatibility and onboard use
The NEMP50/7 is a practical match for clean-fluid circulation or transfer where a steady, seal-less pump is needed, such as chilled-fluid service, chemical handling, dosing equipment, or machinery-space service systems. It is not intended for bilge debris, seawater containing grit, sludge, or any fluid stream with solids that could jam the pump.
Before installation, confirm the fluid is compatible with polypropylene, PPS, EPDM, and alumina ceramic wetted parts. That check is especially important when the pump will handle cleaners, treatment chemicals, coolant mixes, or process fluids stored on board.
Maintenance and care
Keep the inlet clean, avoid dry starts, and inspect the plumbing for restrictions that could starve the pump. If the pump is used seasonally, flushing with a compatible clean fluid before layup helps remove residues that could dry inside the housing or around the spindle.
