The following 4-cylinder engines are compatible with the CDI Electronics 134-9021-4 Mercury/Mariner Trigger: 80 JET, 100, 115, and 125 HP. The part numbers were replaced: 99021A 2, 99021A 6, and 99021K 2. The CDI identifies the most frequent reasons for component failure and creates replacements that are superior to the original. Mercury Marine Original Factory Triggers Your outboard trigger signals when to "fire" to the switch box. Your flywheel's inner ring features magnets that pass through near the trigger coils. The trigger transmits a low voltage "signal" to the switch box each time they move through. The trigger informs the CDI unit (power pack or switch box) when to release voltage to the coil by sending a signal.
