Sea Star Solutions Mandrel - Sierra Marine Engine Parts (18-9816)

A mandrel is a steel cylinder used to sustain a partially machined object or a core around which components can be bent, forged, or molded. When forcefully pressed into a previously machined hole, the mandrel is generally slightly tapered as support during machining, resulting in a grip between the mandrel and the hole wall.
