The O-RING EMP 26-02745 is inserted into the groove so that just the rounded edge extends from the surface. It has a steel construction that pulls the softer copper gasket into the receiver groove and creates a completely sealed combustion chamber. O-rings flex when inserted between two working surfaces, preventing the leakage of any fluid or air. Without this tiny, easy component, the oil could escape into the valve guide and spontaneously combust there. The O-RING EMP 26-02745 is the original equipment of Johnson Evinrude that replaces OMC 335523. The O-Ring for 1991 and up Johnson/Evinrude 3-cyl, 50-75 Hp, 2-cyl 40-60 Hp, V6 150-200 Hp, and V4, 85-140 Hp outboards.
