Overview
The Lumitec 101527 is a 50-foot extension cable kit for the Mantis Dock Light system, used to add distance between the dock lights and the Mantis power unit.
It adds 50 feet to the light cable run, taking the standard 30-foot lead out to a maximum total length of 80 feet for the system.
The kit includes a waterproof splice connector so the connection can be made in a spot that stays dry and is easy to access outside the body of water.
Key features
- 50-foot cable extension made to work with the Lumitec Mantis Dock Light system
- Adds 50 feet to the existing 30-foot light cable run for up to 80 feet total system cable length
- Includes a waterproof splice connector for joining cables above the waterline
- Helps when the Mantis power unit needs to be mounted farther from the lights due to piling, seawall, or dock framing layouts
What’s included
- 50-foot extension cable
- Waterproof splice connector
Compatibility and fit
This extension is intended for the Mantis Dock Light wiring between the dock lights and the Mantis power unit. It is not a general-purpose extension for other Lumitec lighting series.
Installation and setup
Plan the splice location first. The splice connector needs to be installed outside the body of water, so place it above the waterline where it can be inspected and serviced.
Route and secure the cable where it will not rub on dock hardware or get pinched by clamps. On pilings, keep it on the side away from vessel contact and avoid over-tightening straps that can cut into the jacket.
Electrical and system integration
This cable is used on the low-voltage side of the Mantis system. Extend the light cable run before the power unit is energized and keep the splice area protected from standing water and spray.
Use cases on the dock
This is a good match when the transformer and control hardware need to be mounted farther back under a dock roof, inside a service box, or on a protected structure while the lights stay near the waterline.
