Recmar Oil Filter (Rec5Gh-13440-00)

Injecting oil into the filter housing, passing it through the filter material, and back into the engine is accomplished by the oil pump. Any particles larger than 15 microns are effectively trapped. Smaller particles can even be filtered by some filters. If you don't have an oil filter, dangerous particles can get into your engine's oil, causing it to fail.

Key Features:

• A fiber or metal end disc is connected to either end of the filter medium to prevent unfiltered oil from flowing into the middle tube.
• As previously stated, engines produce dust, metal, debris, and oil carbons due to combustion. Before entering the engine, oil filters capture this particle from the oil.
• Soot thickens oil and soil by absorbing them. The thinning holes in the oil filter prevent thick oil from getting into the engine from the pump.
• If the filter works properly, all moving parts, such as connecting rods, camshafts, and valvetrains, are protected from wear and damage.
