Overview
This Attwood Marine bilge pump switch is a panel-mounted rocker switch for controlling a bilge pump from the helm, cockpit, or another accessible station on board. It is used with DC bilge pump circuits drawing 10 amps or less and supports 6V through 32V DC systems, making it suitable for many 12V and 24V boat installations.
The switch uses 1/4 in. spade terminals and has a face plate measuring 2-13/16 in. x 1-7/8 in. It is a practical replacement or upgrade when a simple pump control panel is needed without adding a larger switch panel.
Key features
- Panel-mounted rocker format for clean installation at the helm, console, cabin panel, or service area.
- Supports 6V through 32V DC bilge pump circuits with a maximum pump draw of 10 amps.
- Uses 1/4 in. spade terminals for straightforward wiring with common marine crimp connectors.
- Face plate measures 2-13/16 in. x 1-7/8 in. for a compact panel footprint.
- Available in 2-way and 3-way versions to match basic manual control or automatic bilge pump control layouts.
Variants
This bilge pump switch is offered in two switch-position configurations for different bilge pump wiring setups.
The 2-way version is for simple On/Off pump control. The 3-way version adds Auto/Off/Manual control for use with an automatic bilge pump or a float-switch controlled bilge system.
- 7615-3: Switch positions 2-Way. This version gives straightforward On/Off control when the operator wants direct manual control of the bilge pump circuit.
- 7615A3: Switch positions 3-Way. This version gives Auto/Off/Manual control so the pump can be left in automatic mode, shut off, or run manually from the panel.
Installation and setup
Mount the switch on a flat panel with enough depth behind it for the switch body and wiring. The circuit should be fused according to the bilge pump instructions, and all wiring should be secured so vibration and movement do not pull on the terminals.
Run pump wiring so connections stay above the highest possible water level, and make water-resistant electrical connections in the bilge area. This switch is not external ignition protected, so it should not be installed where ignition-protected equipment is required.
Use cases on board
This switch is a good match for small to mid-size boats that need a dedicated bilge pump control at the helm, console, or electrical panel. It works well for replacing a worn bilge rocker switch or adding a simple control point during a bilge pump installation.
