Overview
The Raymarine T915 is a transom mount Triducer for boats that need depth, speed and water temperature information from one external sensor. It is made for transom installation, with a hydrodynamic housing that uses a rounded nose to reduce turbulence under the transducer face so readings stay more consistent when the boat is running at speed.
This style of transducer is a practical fit for powerboats, fishing boats and other vessels where a through-hull installation is not preferred. The paddle-wheel measures speed through the water, while the depth and temperature sensing functions help feed the helm with the basic data needed for navigation, trim checks, fishing and day-to-day operation.
Key features
- Combines depth, speed and water temperature sensing in one transom-mounted unit.
- Hydrodynamic housing with a rounded nose helps reduce turbulence under the transducer face at higher boat speeds.
- Square blade paddle-wheel improves speed linearity across the operating range.
- Adjustable tension bracket can kick up on impact to help protect the transducer housing.
- Recessed waterflow channel helps shield the paddle-wheel from contact and obstruction.
Installation and setup
The T915 mounts on the transom, so placement matters. It should sit in clean water flow, away from prop wash, strakes, steps, through-hull fittings and other areas that can create aeration. A careful mounting position helps the depth face and paddle-wheel stay in contact with smooth water, which is especially important when the boat is on plane.
The kick-up bracket is useful on trailered boats and shallow-water craft because it gives the housing a way to move if it strikes debris or is bumped during handling. After installation, speed readings may still need calibration at the connected instrument because hull shape, mounting angle and water flow all affect paddle-wheel speed performance.
Use on board
This transducer suits boaters who want core instrument data without adding separate sensors for depth, speed and temperature. It is especially useful for helm stations where water speed, depth awareness and surface temperature are part of normal cruising, fishing or coastal navigation routines.
Because it is an external transom mount unit, periodic inspection is straightforward. Keeping the paddle-wheel channel clean and checking the bracket after haul-out or trailering helps the transducer keep reading properly through the season.
