Overview
The TACO Marine 5/32’’ Opening x 9/16’’ Flex Trim is a flexible PVC edge trim for covering unfinished edges on boat panels, hatches, lockers, consoles, and other trim locations where a clean finished edge is needed. Its 5/32’’ opening and 9/16’’ profile make it useful for narrow edge finishing, especially where the trim needs to follow curves or tighter radiuses rather than a straight run only.
This flex trim uses individual internal aluminum clips with a gripping tongue, helping the trim hold its position on the edge after installation. It is a practical detail part for refinishing worn edges, protecting exposed panel cuts, or giving new fabrication work a finished look in cockpit, cabin, deck, or storage areas.
Key features
- Flexible PVC body helps the trim follow curves, contours, and radiuses around marine panels and openings.
- 5/32’’ opening fits narrow unfinished edges where a low-profile finishing trim is needed.
- 9/16’’ trim profile gives visible edge coverage without adding a bulky look to the installation.
- Integrated internal aluminum clips and gripping tongue help the trim stay seated on the edge.
- Available in black or white to coordinate with common boat interiors, exterior trim areas, and panel colors.
- Offered in 25’ and 250’ lengths for small repairs, refits, and longer production-style installations.
- Backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Variants
This flex trim is offered in multiple configurations based on length and color. The trim size, flexible PVC construction, internal aluminum clips, and gripping tongue are consistent across the listed configurations.
The 25’ lengths suit smaller repair jobs, hatch openings, console edges, and short trim runs. The 250’ lengths are better suited to larger refits, multiple boats, or shops that need continuous inventory for repeated installations.
- V30-1005B250: 250’ length in black. This option suits longer black trim runs or shop use where multiple edge-finishing jobs are expected.
- V30-1005B25-1: 25’ length in black. This option works well for smaller black trim repairs, single-panel projects, or localized edge finishing.
- V30-1005W250: 250’ length in white. This option suits longer white trim runs where the finished edge needs to blend with lighter panels or deck areas.
- V30-1005W25-1: 25’ length in white. This option is a good match for smaller white trim repairs, hatch edges, locker openings, or short fabrication runs.
Installation and fit
Before installation, the edge should be clean, dry, and free of loose material so the gripping tongue can seat evenly. The trim can be worked around curves by hand, making it useful for boat areas where a rigid molding would be difficult to fit neatly.
Check the edge thickness against the 5/32’’ opening before ordering. This is especially important on fiberglass panels, liner cuts, hatch lids, and custom fabricated parts where thickness can vary from one section to another.
Use cases on board
This trim is a good fit for owners, refit shops, and builders who need to finish exposed edges without adding a large molding profile. It can be used during cosmetic refresh work, minor repairs, or new panel installations where the edge needs protection and a cleaner appearance.
Maintenance and care
For routine care, wash the trim with mild boat soap and fresh water as part of normal deck or cabin cleaning. Avoid harsh solvents near the PVC surface, and inspect long runs occasionally to confirm the trim remains fully seated after vibration, repeated use, or seasonal service work.
