Description  

A flange is a little protruding flat rim, collar, or rib used to reinforce or fasten a screw. When used in appropriate applications, flange screws are exceedingly secure. These screws evenly distribute pressure where the screw touches the surface while avoiding the need for a washer. It saves space and money by eliminating the need for a separate washer.
