Overview
The Hella Marine 358111691 is an amber LED lighthead that mounts flat to add a highly visible warning signal on board. It runs on 12 or 24 VDC systems and is intended for exposed locations where spray, vibration, and daily use are normal.
This lighthead is 5.1 in (130 mm) long and uses a self-adhesive backing for quick mounting on a clean, flat surface. It has 21 selectable flash patterns, including steady-on, and it remembers the last pattern used when power is cycled.
Key features
- Amber LED warning lighthead for surface mounting
- Multi-voltage input: 12 to 24 VDC
- 21 selectable flash patterns, including steady-on
- Self-adhesive backing for fast, no-drill mounting on suitable surfaces
- Non-volatile memory recalls the last selected pattern after power-off
- Multiple units can be grouped for coordinated warning setups
- Frosted lens with a glowing body effect for wide-angle presence
- Weatherproof and vibration resistant for interior or exterior use
Compatibility and fit
This is a signaling lighthead meant to be seen, not a cabin or courtesy light meant to illuminate a space. It fits both 12V and 24V DC electrical systems commonly found on center consoles, sportfishers, sailboats, and commercial craft.
Installation and wiring
Mount it on a smooth, solid area where the lens has a clear line of sight, such as a hardtop edge, cabin side, work deck structure, or equipment housing. Adhesive-backed lights depend on surface prep, so remove wax, salt film, and oils before mounting, and keep the wiring supported so vibration does not work the leads loose over time.
Plan the circuit like any other on-board accessory: switch or controller placement, a properly sized fuse close to the power source, and a clean ground return. In multi-light setups, grouping lets several heads flash together for a more organized warning layout.
Use on board
A good match for skippers who run a workboat, tow, patrol, or dockside service role and want a dedicated amber warning signal on a 12V or 24V system. It also works well on tenders or utility platforms where you need quick visibility during low-speed operations around traffic, docks, or ramps.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt and grime off the lens and housing during routine washdowns, and check wiring support points as part of your seasonal inspection. If you see reduced output, start by confirming solid power and ground connections before chasing controls or pattern settings.
