The thermostat kit Volvo Penta runs 160 degrees and fits many 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, and 8.1L Volvo Penta engines, placed between the engine and the radiator. This thermostat's function is to ensure the correct operating temperature of the engine, which is the temperature displayed on the panel of the boat. When cold, it will stay closed, stopping coolant flow and helping the engine. It acts as a valve that stays closed during engine warm-up and regulates coolant flow through the engine. This thermostat is located between the engine and the radiator.
