The Clip Volvo Penta - Volvo Penta (3857521) Volvo Penta is a retaining ring or fastener of a semi-flexible metal ring with an ope that can snap into position and enter into a machined groove on a dowel or other item to allow rotation while preventing lateral movement. Without a tool, removing a snap ring or c-clip is quite difficult. As a result, when removing clips, you must use the proper pliers, as negligent disassembly or the use of inappropriate tools might damage the clip or the device. If pliers aren't available, needle nose or narrow tip pliers are the next best alternative for removing the retaining ring safely.
