Overview
The TACO Marine S11-2000P12 is a 12" x 3/4" stainless steel rail end for finishing the end of a compatible stainless steel rub rail. It gives the rail a cleaner termination point and helps remove exposed edges that can catch lines, fenders, clothing, or hands around the hull side.
This rail end is made from Type 304 stainless steel and uses #8 screws for installation. It is a practical replacement or finishing piece for boats with stainless rub rail trim, especially where the end of the rail needs a neat cap-off point at the transom, bow transition, or another termination area.
Key features
- 12" length and 3/4" width match compatible stainless steel rub rail installations.
- Type 304 stainless steel construction suits exterior marine trim exposed to spray, washdowns, and dockside wear.
- Finished rail-end shape helps reduce snag points at the end of a stainless rub rail run.
- Uses #8 screws, making fastener selection straightforward during repair or installation work.
- Useful for rub rail replacement jobs, damaged end repairs, and new trim installations where a clean end detail is needed.
Installation and fit
Before installation, match the 3/4" width to the existing stainless rub rail profile and check that the rail end sits cleanly against the hull surface. Dry fitting is worth the extra minute, especially on curved hull sections or near corners where the rail may not sit perfectly flat until fastened.
Use #8 stainless fasteners suitable for the hull material and mounting surface. Seal fastener holes as appropriate for the boat construction to help keep water out of the substrate, then tighten the rail end evenly so it sits flush without distorting the surrounding trim.
Use cases on board
This part is a good match for owners and yards working on rub rail repairs, refits, or cosmetic trim work where an exposed stainless rail end needs to be finished properly. It is especially useful around docking contact areas where fender lines and dock lines can rub against the hull edge.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the rail end with fresh water after saltwater use and clean it along with the rest of the stainless trim. A periodic check of the fasteners and surrounding sealant is sensible, particularly after hard docking contact or after the boat has spent time in rough, wet conditions.
