What makes these stands superior? Why should you use this product? First, we hot dip the base and sell it at a reduced price compared to their painted base. Because the bottom is continually in contact with the ground, painting makes no sense because the paint rusts as soon as it comes into contact with the earth. Rather than selling you bare steel, we hot dip galvanize the entire top. Rather than a block of plywood, we use a rubber billet. We used to use plywood with a phenolic resin glue, but we think the rubber billet is more excellent. We have beefed up the wingnut collar from 1" to 1.5" in length. It increases by 50% the mating surface to our square acme thread. It enhances the capacity of the load.
