Overview
The Raymarine 45STV is a 45 cm satellite TV antenna system for boats that need Ku-band TV reception while cruising in supported service areas. It is built around a 45 cm reflector inside a 50 cm radome, with a radome height of 54 cm and an antenna weight of 11.6 kg, making it a practical fit for many mid-size motor yachts and sailing yachts in the 10.7 to 15 m range.
This system is made for onboard entertainment rather than navigation. It tracks satellite TV signals while the vessel moves, using Wide Range Search signal acquisition and Dynamic Beam Tilting to help keep the antenna aligned as heading, pitch and roll change. The system supports Ku-band reception from 10.7 to 12.75 GHz, with RHCP, LHCP, vertical and horizontal polarization support.
The Antenna Control Unit operates from 9.0 to 30.0V DC, which suits common 12V and 24V boat electrical systems. It includes built-in Wi-Fi for setup and monitoring through compatible devices, plus an NMEA 0183 GPS interface, giving installers a clear path for integrating position data when required.

Variants
The Raymarine 45STV range is offered in two configurations that differ by regional coverage and skew type. Both are 45 cm satellite TV antenna systems in the same 45STV family, with the same core antenna size and ACU-based installation approach.
The coverage option should match the satellite TV service area used by the vessel. The skew type matters most when cruising across regions where satellite polarization angle changes can affect reception.
- E70462: Coverage for Brazil, Mexico and Europe with standard skew. This version suits installations where the listed coverage area matches the vessel’s cruising grounds and a standard skew configuration is required.
- E70466: Coverage for EMEA with AutoSkew. This version adds automatic skew adjustment for EMEA installations, which helps the system manage polarization angle changes without manual skew setting during use.
Installation and setup
The 45STV uses a single RF cable between the antenna and the Antenna Control Unit, which keeps the cable run simpler than multi-cable antenna installations. The supplied 15 m RG6 antenna-to-ACU cable gives installers a practical starting point for routing from a hardtop, radar arch or mast platform back to the electronics space.
The antenna should be mounted with a clear view of the sky and as little obstruction as possible from masts, radar arrays, domes or metal structures. Like any marine satellite TV antenna, it needs both mechanical clearance and a cable route that protects the coax from sharp bends, standing water and chafe.
Electrical and system integration
The Antenna Control Unit has a typical power consumption of 30 W and a maximum power consumption of 50 W. The 9.0 to 30.0V DC input range gives installers flexibility on boats with 12V or 24V DC distribution, but the circuit should still be protected and sized according to the vessel’s electrical standards.
The ACU includes a built-in GPS interface using NMEA 0183 GPS data. The unit can use its own GPS, and the vessel’s GPS can also be connected through the NMEA 0183 port when the installation calls for shared position data.
Marine use
This system is a good match for owners who want satellite TV service on coastal cruising boats, sportfishing boats, motor yachts and cruising sailboats within the supported coverage regions. The compact radome is easier to place on many mid-size vessels than larger TV domes, while still giving the stronger reception benefits of a 45 cm reflector.
For best results, the selected variant should match the vessel’s normal cruising region and satellite service plan. TV service availability still depends on the provider, subscription, satellite footprint and local reception conditions.
