Overview
The TACO Marine SuproFlex is a semi-rigid vinyl rub rail for replacing or upgrading hull protection on small boats. This small profile measures 1.6" x .78" and comes in a 60 ft continuous length, giving installers enough rail to work around the hull with fewer breaks in the run.
The co-extruded vinyl construction uses a rigid backing with a softer front face, along with shock-absorbing channels that help manage dock bumps, trailer contact, and everyday impacts around the sheer line. It suits small boats from 15 to 22 feet, including bass boats, bay boats, flats boats, and saltwater center consoles.
SuproFlex is made to form around most hull shapes with no pre-forming and only minimal heating for tight-radius bends. The rail accepts compatible TACO Flex insert options, including V12-0307CP and V12-0307BP, sold separately.
Key features
- Small 1.6" x .78" rub rail profile for hull edges where a lower-profile replacement rail is needed.
- 60 ft continuous length supports cleaner installation with fewer joints around the boat.
- Co-extruded vinyl body with two hardness levels, using a rigid backing and softer front face.
- Shock-absorbing channels help the rail take contact from docks, pilings, trailers, and raft-ups.
- Needs no pre-forming and can be worked around tight-radius bends with minimal heating.
- Compatible with TACO V12-0307CP and V12-0307BP insert options, sold separately.
- Uses #8 fasteners spaced 4" on center for the listed 60 ft configurations.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Variants
This SuproFlex rub rail is offered in three 60 ft color configurations for matching the hull, deck edge, or existing trim style.
The color changes by variant, while the small 1.6" x .78" profile, 60 ft length, compatible insert family, and #8 screw spacing remain the same across these listed options.
- V11-9960BKA60D: Black. This option gives the rub rail a darker trim line that can work well on boats with black accents, dark hardware, or a contrasting hull edge.
- V11-9960WHA60D: Arctic White. This option gives the rail a clean white appearance for installations where the rub rail should blend closely with a bright white hull or deck edge.
- V11-9960WHC60D: Frosty White. This option gives the rail a softer white tone for boats where a less stark white better matches the existing gelcoat or trim.
Installation and fit
This rail is a practical match for refits where the old rub rail has become cracked, faded, compressed, or difficult to keep seated. Before ordering, measure the existing rail height and depth, confirm the total hull perimeter needed, and check that the 1.6" x .78" profile will cover the original mounting footprint.
Because the insert is sold separately, the installer can select the compatible insert finish that works with the boat’s look and service needs. During installation, careful dry fitting around the bow, corners, and transom helps confirm bend behavior and fastener placement before the final run is secured.
Use cases on board
This rub rail fits owners and yards working on small fishing boats, bay boats, flats boats, bass boats, and compact center consoles that see routine dock contact, trailer loading, and washdown use. It is especially useful when the goal is a cleaner hull edge with a continuous rail that can follow the boat’s shape without complex forming work.
