Overview
The TACO Marine Small SuproFlex Semi-Rigid Rub Rail is a co-extruded vinyl rub rail for small boat hull protection, supplied in a 1-5/8" x 7/8" profile and 60 ft length. It uses a semi-rigid back with a 95-durometer face, giving the rail enough flex for installation while keeping a firmer outer surface for dock and piling contact.
This profile is suited to many 15 to 22 ft boats, including bass boats, fish boats, and bay boats. It is made to work with the V12-9992 Flexible Overlay Vinyl Insert, sold separately, which completes the face of the rail and adds another layer between the hull edge and everyday impact points.
Key features
- Co-extruded vinyl construction with two hardness levels, using a semi-rigid back and a firm 95-durometer face.
- Shock-absorbing channels help manage contact from docks, pilings, trailers, and nearby boats.
- Small 1-5/8" x 7/8" profile fits many compact fishing, bay, and bass boat applications.
- 60 ft continuous coil helps reduce seams and makes the rail easier to stage around the hull during installation.
- Requires no pre-forming and only minimal heat, which helps when working around curves and corners.
- Pairs exclusively with the V12-9992 Flexible Overlay Vinyl Insert, sold separately.
- Made in the USA and covered by a 5-year limited warranty.
Variants
This SuproFlex rub rail is offered in two color configurations for the same small 1-5/8" x 7/8" profile.
The listed variants share the same 60 ft length and rub rail profile. The difference is the visible rail color, which affects how the rail looks against the hull, deck edge, and insert color.
- V11-9991BKA60D: Black. This version gives the hull edge a dark trim line and reduces contrast on boats that already use black rub rail, black inserts, or dark accent hardware.
- V11-9991WHA60D: Arctic White. This version keeps the rail lighter in appearance and blends more naturally with many white hull sides, decks, and cap lines.
Installation and fit
This rail is a practical replacement option when the existing rub rail is cracked, faded, loose, or no longer protecting the hull-to-deck joint the way it should. Before installation, confirm the boat perimeter, the original rail footprint, corner radii, fastener spacing, and the insert plan so the new rail sits cleanly around the hull.
The continuous coil format helps when laying out the rail around the boat before fastening. Because the overlay insert is sold separately, the insert color and quantity should be planned along with the rail so the finished installation has the right look and level of coverage.
Use on board
This rub rail makes sense for owners refitting small fishing boats, bay boats, and bass boats that see regular dockside contact, trailer loading, and raft-ups. It is also useful for builders or repair shops that need a semi-rigid profile with a cleaner installation process than heavier rigid rub rail sections.
