Overview
The TACO Marine S11-4680P6-1 is a 6 ft stainless steel hatch trim for finishing hatch covers, doors, and similar marine openings where a clean metal edge is needed. It is made from Type 304 stainless steel with a polished mirror finish, giving exposed hatch and door edges a finished look while matching other polished deck hardware.
This trim measures 1-1/2 in wide and 1/16 in thick. It comes drilled and countersunk for #6 screws on 2 in centers, which helps with layout during installation and keeps the fasteners sitting flush once mounted.
Key features
- 6 ft stainless steel hatch trim for boat hatches, hatch covers, doors, and trim edges.
- Type 304 stainless steel construction with a polished mirror finish for exposed marine locations.
- 1-1/2 in width and 1/16 in thickness for a low-profile finished edge.
- Pre-drilled and countersunk for #6 screws on 2 in centers to simplify screw placement.
- Suitable for refit work where worn hatch or door edges need a cleaner finished appearance.
Installation and fit
Because the trim is already drilled and countersunk, the main fit checks are length, width, screw size, and the shape of the hatch or door edge. The 6 ft length can be used as supplied or cut to suit the opening, with the cut ends dressed before final installation.
For best results, test fit the trim before fastening, mark the screw locations, and confirm that the surface underneath is sound enough to hold #6 screws. Bedding compound may be appropriate depending on the mounting surface and whether the installation area is exposed to spray, washdowns, or standing water.
Use on board
This trim is a practical match for boat owners, yards, and refit crews working on hatches, companionway doors, access panels, or other openings where a polished stainless edge gives the installation a cleaner finish. It works especially well in visible deck, cockpit, and cabin areas where bare or worn edges would stand out.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the trim with fresh water after saltwater exposure and clean it with products that are safe for polished stainless steel. Avoid abrasive pads that can scratch the mirror finish, especially in highly visible hatch and door locations.
