Overview
The TACO Marine V12-0334BKA50-1 is a 50 ft black flexible vinyl rub rail insert for A11-0334 flexible rub rail systems, with a 3/4 in x 3/8 in profile and soft PVC construction for everyday contact at docks, pilings, and trailers.
This insert fits into the rub rail channel to cover fasteners and give the hull-to-deck joint a clean finished line. The soft PVC helps cushion normal bumps around slips and launch ramps, while the black finish works well on many fiberglass boats where the rub rail is part of the boat’s visible trim.
It is a practical replacement when the existing insert has become faded, cracked, loose, or missing. It is also useful during rub rail service when fasteners need to be accessed and the old insert cannot be reused cleanly.
Key features
- 50 ft length for rub rail service on small to midsize boats, depending on the vessel perimeter and installation layout.
- 3/4 in x 3/8 in profile made for matching rub rail channels.
- Black flexible vinyl insert for a clean trim line along the hull side.
- Soft PVC helps absorb normal contact from docks, pilings, and close-quarter handling.
- Covers rub rail fasteners after installation for a more finished appearance.
- Compatible with A11-0334 flexible rub rail systems.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Compatibility and fit
Fit is mainly about matching the insert profile to the rub rail channel, not just matching the boat brand or model year. Before ordering, compare the 3/4 in x 3/8 in profile with the existing insert or the rub rail specification on the boat.
This insert is intended for flexible rub rail systems that accept the V12-0334 profile. It should not be treated as a universal insert for every rub rail, since small differences in shape can affect how securely the vinyl seats in the channel.
Installation notes
Warm vinyl is easier to work with, especially when feeding the insert around curves at the bow or stern. During installation, the insert should be pressed into the channel without stretching it, since stretched vinyl can contract later and leave gaps at the ends.
For a cleaner job, remove debris from the rub rail channel before fitting the new insert. On older boats, this is also a good time to check exposed fasteners and address any loose sections before the insert covers them again.
Use on board
This insert suits boat owners replacing worn trim, refreshing the appearance of a rub rail, or servicing a flexible rub rail after hull-side repairs. It is especially relevant for boats that see regular dockside contact, trailering, or close handling in marinas.
Maintenance and care
Routine washing with mild boat soap helps keep the black vinyl looking consistent and removes salt, grime, and dock residue. Avoid harsh solvents or abrasive pads, since they can mark the vinyl surface or shorten the service life of the insert.
