Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 8072 is a single-position A-Series mounting panel for a single pole toggle circuit breaker, not a breaker itself. It measures 2-5/8 in. wide by 3-3/4 in. high and uses 1/8 in. aluminum 5052 alloy, so it fits neatly where you need one breaker location without moving to a larger multi-position panel.
This panel is a practical match for custom DC panel work at the helm, nav station, or another protected interior mounting area where you want one breaker in a clean, finished opening. The slate gray face matches standard Blue Sea Systems panel color, and the recessed area accepts the large-format panel label so the finished panel is easier to identify and keep organized.
Key features
- Single-position mounting panel sized for Blue Sea Systems A-Series single pole toggle circuit breakers
- 1/8 in. aluminum 5052 alloy panel for a rigid mounting surface
- 2-5/8 in. x 3-3/4 in. footprint works well when panel space is limited
- Slate gray finish matches standard Blue Sea Systems panel color
- Recess accepts Blue Sea Systems large-format panel labels for clear circuit marking
Compatibility and fit
This piece is meant for A-Series single pole toggle breaker installations where you want a dedicated panel opening for one circuit. It is useful when replacing a worn single-breaker panel, adding one protected branch circuit to an existing setup, or keeping a custom electrical panel layout consistent with other Blue Sea Systems panel components.
Because this is the panel only, it should be matched with the correct A-Series breaker and label for the circuit you are building. Checking the cutout location, rear clearance, and the breaker you plan to mount will help avoid rework once wiring is in place.
Installation and use on board
On a boat, this panel makes sense anywhere a single switched and protected circuit needs its own spot, such as electronics, pumps, or a dedicated accessory feed. It is a good match for owners and installers building out a tidy DC panel one circuit at a time, especially when the goal is to keep the finished face uniform with existing Blue Sea Systems hardware.
The aluminum panel is straightforward to fasten into a dash, switch area, or interior electrical panel where the surface is flat and well supported. In exposed locations, normal marine practice still applies: use suitable sealing, corrosion-conscious fasteners, and wiring support so the breaker and panel stay secure under vibration.
