Overview
The Blue Sea Systems DC C-Series Panel is a blank DC breaker panel made for C-Series toggle circuit breakers on marine electrical systems. It gives installers a clean starting point for building a protected DC distribution panel without being locked into pre-labeled circuits.
The panel uses heavy 1/8" aluminum 5052 alloy with a two-part polyurethane slate gray finish. It accepts standard Blue Sea Systems backlight labels and standard Blue Sea Systems "ON" indication LEDs, which helps keep breaker identification and status viewing consistent with other Blue Sea Systems panel hardware on board.
This range is a practical fit for helm stations, navigation areas, electrical lockers, and other protected mounting locations where a boat needs grouped DC circuit protection for equipment such as electronics, lighting, pumps, or accessories.
Key features
- Blank DC panel for C-Series toggle circuit breakers, giving the installer control over the final circuit layout.
- Available in 3-bay and 8-bay layouts for small accessory groups or larger DC distribution panels.
- Heavy 1/8" aluminum 5052 alloy panel construction for a solid mounting surface in marine electrical installations.
- Two-part polyurethane slate gray finish for a clean panel face that matches many Blue Sea Systems electrical panels.
- Accepts standard Blue Sea Systems backlight labels for clear circuit identification at the helm or electrical panel.
- Accepts standard Blue Sea Systems "ON" indication LEDs for visual breaker status indication when the system is wired for it.
- Works with compatible Blue Sea Systems C-Series single-pole, double-pole, and triple-pole toggle circuit breakers.
Variants
This blank DC C-Series panel is offered in two bay configurations for different circuit counts.
The bay count, panel size, and weight vary between the two versions. The aluminum 5052 alloy construction, slate gray polyurethane finish, C-Series toggle breaker fit, backlight label compatibility, and "ON" indication LED compatibility remain consistent across the range.
- 8087: 8 bays. This version measures 7.50" high by 5.25" wide and weighs 0.40 lb, giving more room for grouped DC branch circuits in a main panel or larger electrical locker.
- 8088: 3 bays. This version measures 3.75" high by 5.25" wide and weighs 0.24 lb, making it useful where only a few protected circuits are needed or where panel space is limited.
Compatibility and fit
This panel is for Blue Sea Systems C-Series toggle circuit breakers. It is not a pre-wired breaker assembly, so the breaker poles, amperage ratings, wire sizing, labels, and indicator wiring should be matched to the boat's DC loads and installation plan.
The 5.25" width is common to both variants, while the height changes with the number of breaker bays. Before cutting a panel opening or laying out screw positions, the selected variant should be checked against the available flat mounting area and the required clearance behind the panel for breaker bodies and wiring bends.
Installation and setup
Use this panel where the breakers can be reached easily and where labels remain visible during operation. On a boat, that usually means a protected interior location, a helm electrical panel, or a serviceable distribution area rather than a spot exposed directly to boarding water or constant spray.
Because this is a blank panel, the finished installation depends on the chosen C-Series breakers, circuit labels, and any "ON" indication LEDs used with the system. Proper overcurrent protection, conductor sizing, terminal protection, and strain relief should be handled as part of the complete DC distribution design.
