Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 360 Panel AC Source Selector Module is a rotary AC source selection module for boats with two 120V AC shore power inputs and one 120/240V AC source feeding two separate 120V AC load groups. It gives the AC panel a clear OFF position and two source positions, which helps keep source switching organized when shore power and onboard AC generation are part of the same electrical system.
This module fits the Blue Sea Systems 360 Panel System and uses the same 4.88 in x 4.75 in panel footprint across the available amperage options. The range is offered in 30A and 65A configurations, with depth and wire-size requirements changing by amperage. Red reverse-polarity LED indicators and green power-available LED indicators are built into the panel layout, giving quick visual confirmation at the AC panel before loads are energized.
Key features
- Rotary AC source selector for switching between two 120V AC shore power sources and one 120/240V AC source.
- Feeds two 120V AC load groups, useful on split-load AC panels where separate onboard circuits need organized source control.
- OFF plus 2 source positions give the operator a clear mechanical switching sequence at the panel.
- Red reverse-polarity LED indicators support fast dockside checks before AC loads are used.
- Green power-available LED indicators show when AC source power is present at the panel.
- Fits the 360 Panel System open-frame layout, allowing this source selector to be combined with other compatible 360 modules.
- Common 4.88 in width and 4.75 in height across both variants for consistent panel planning.
Variants
This 360 Panel AC Source Selector Module is offered in two amperage configurations for different AC service requirements.
The switching function is the same across the range: both variants manage two 120V AC shore power sources and one 120/240V AC source feeding two 120V AC load groups. The max amperage, depth, weight, wire-size range, and included rotary switch change between the two versions.
- 1480, Max Amperage 65A. This version uses a 65A AC rotary switch and is the deeper module at 4.50 in, with a 12-6 AWG wire-size range and a weight of 3.50 lb. It is suited to panels built around higher-amperage AC source wiring.
- 1489, Max Amperage 30A. This version uses a 30A AC rotary switch and has a 2.98 in depth, with a 14-10 AWG wire-size range and a weight of 1.20 lb. It supports the same source-selection layout in a lower-amperage configuration.
Installation and setup
This module is intended for installation as part of a Blue Sea Systems 360 Panel System, so panel layout, wire routing, overcurrent protection, and AC source wiring should be planned together. The 65A version needs more panel depth than the 30A version, which matters on helm stations, electrical lockers, and retrofit panels where clearance behind the face plate is limited.
AC source selection should be installed and inspected by a qualified marine electrician. The module handles source selection, while circuit protection and the rest of the AC distribution system must match the vessel’s wiring plan and applicable marine electrical standards.
Use cases on board
This module is a practical match for cruising boats, larger center consoles, trawlers, and yachts that use more than one AC source and need a clear way to manage split 120V load groups from the main panel. It is especially useful when shore power and a 120/240V onboard source need to be selected from one organized location instead of being handled with scattered switches.
For refits, the common 360 Panel footprint helps keep the front-panel layout clean while allowing the amperage rating to match the vessel’s AC service. For new panel builds, it gives the operator a familiar rotary control and visible polarity and power status indicators at the point where source decisions are made.
