Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 360 Panel System AC Source Selection Panel is an AC source selector module for boats with two selectable AC inputs, such as shore power and a generator or inverter-fed AC source. It is part of the 360 Panel System and uses a compact module format measuring 4.75 in high, 4.88 in wide, and 3.00 in deep, so it can be planned into a helm, nav station, electrical locker, or main AC distribution area where space is limited.
The panel gives clear source status at the electrical panel with green Power Available LEDs and red Reverse Polarity LEDs. Lockout slides help prevent more than one AC source from being connected at the same time, which is a key safety detail when managing AC power aboard.
Key features
- Two-source AC selection for marine electrical systems where controlled switching between AC inputs is required.
- Available in 120V AC and 230V AC versions, with double-pole main breaker ratings matched to the selected configuration.
- Lockout slides help prevent simultaneous connection of multiple AC sources.
- Red Reverse Polarity LEDs and green Power Available LEDs make source condition easier to check at the panel.
- Backlit label positions support easier identification in cabins, engine rooms, and low-light electrical spaces.
- 360 Panel System module format supports clean integration with other compatible Blue Sea Systems 360 Panel modules.
Variants
This AC source selection panel is offered in multiple electrical configurations for different onboard AC systems and main breaker requirements.
The variants differ by nominal AC voltage and double-pole main breaker rating. The two-source layout, LED status indication, lockout slide function, and 360 Panel System module size remain consistent across the listed configurations.
- 1232: 230V AC with 32A double-pole main breaker rating. This configuration suits 230V AC installations that require a higher main breaker rating within this two-source selector layout.
- 1231: 120V AC with 50A double-pole main breaker rating. This version fits 120V AC systems where a 50A main source selector is needed.
- 1208: 120V AC with 30A double-pole main breaker rating. This option matches 120V AC boats using a 30A main AC source arrangement.
- 1209: 230V AC with 16A double-pole main breaker rating. This configuration supports 230V AC systems with a lower 16A main breaker requirement.
Installation and setup
Plan the panel location where the AC source controls can be reached and read easily, while keeping the rear of the module accessible for wiring, service checks, and strain relief. The 3.00 in depth should be checked against the available clearance behind the mounting surface before cutting or assembling the panel.
Because this module handles AC source selection, installation should follow the vessel’s AC wiring plan and applicable marine electrical practices. Matching the variant to the boat’s nominal voltage and required double-pole main breaker rating is the most important fit check before ordering.
Use on board
This panel is a practical fit for cruising boats, sportfish boats, and larger sailboats that need a clear way to manage two AC sources from one distribution area. It is especially useful where the crew needs quick visual confirmation of available power and polarity condition before energizing onboard AC loads.
