Map Sensor - Sierra Marine Engine Parts (18-7668) Sea Star Solutions designed for use with Mercruiser 525 EFI and Mercury 8.2L (2010 & Up). The sensor sends manifold pressure data in real-time to the engine's electronic control unit. The data is utilized to compute air density and the air mass flow rate of the engine, which determines the needed fuel supply for perfect combustion. A fully operational MAP sensor is required to maintain the proper balance of acceleration, fuel efficiency, emissions, and engine smoothness. The MAP sensor tells the engine computer to provide more fuel when the throttle is wide open and the air is rushing into the intake manifold. It is interchangeable with Mercury Marine 854445, Mercruiser SternDrive 854445, and Mallory 9-33603 and 9-33600. This product replaces 47-7668, 808282277215, and 9-33603.
