Overview
The Jabsco Profile D is a replacement flexible pump impeller range for marine pumps that use the D profile impeller size. These six-blade impellers are offered in neoprene and nitrile materials, with size 005 and size 010 configurations for different pump shaft and insert requirements.
The confirmed Profile D range in these variants uses a 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) diameter and 3/4 in. (19 mm) width. Shaft and insert details vary by configuration, so the selected impeller needs to match the pump model, the old impeller, or the vessel’s service records rather than profile shape alone.
Key features
- Profile D flexible impeller range for Jabsco marine pump service where this impeller profile is specified.
- Six-blade format across the confirmed variants, with 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) diameter and 3/4 in. (19 mm) width.
- Neoprene options suit engine cooling and fresh or salt water transfer where oil or diesel exposure is limited.
- Nitrile options suit bilge and transfer duty where the pumped water may be contaminated by oil or diesel.
- Variant choices cover size 005 and size 010, with brass-insert and no-insert configurations depending on pump shaft style.
Variants
This product is offered in four Profile D configurations. The differences are material, size, and insert material, which affect the type of fluid service and the way the impeller interfaces with the pump shaft.
The confirmed common points are the Profile D silhouette, six-blade layout, 1-9/16 in. (40 mm) diameter, and 3/4 in. (19 mm) width. Shaft details are not the same across every variant, so the part number and configuration should match the pump’s required impeller.
- 4528-0001: Neoprene, size 005, with brass insert. This is the water-service option in the size 005 group and is matched to pumps using the 3/8 in. shaft configuration.
- 4528-0003: Nitrile, size 005, with brass insert. The nitrile material separates it from the neoprene size 005 version and suits bilge or transfer work where oil or diesel contamination may be present.
- 17255-0003: Nitrile, size 005, with no insert. This version uses the nitrile impeller material with a molded shaft arrangement rather than a brass insert, matching the drill-pump style configuration in the Profile D group.
- 22405-0001: Neoprene, size 010, with brass insert. This size 010 version keeps the neoprene material but uses the 15/32 in. shaft configuration, so it belongs with pumps that call for the 22405 setup.
Compatibility and fit
Flexible impellers are fit-critical service parts. Profile, outside diameter, width, shaft size, drive style, and insert material all matter, especially when replacing an impeller in an engine cooling pump, bilge pump, transfer pump, or general-purpose flexible impeller pump.
A Profile D label is useful, but it is not the only fit check. Size 005 and size 010 variants in this group are not interchangeable without confirming the pump’s required shaft and insert configuration.
Installation and service notes
During replacement, the pump cover and gasket are removed, the old impeller is pulled straight out of the body, and the new impeller is lubricated before being pressed into place. The drive or shaft feature must line up correctly before the cover is refitted.
On boats that see regular coastal cruising, offshore runs, fishing use, or seasonal layup, the impeller should be inspected as part of routine raw-water and pump maintenance. Dry running, age, and contaminated fluid can shorten impeller life, so keeping the correct spare on board is a practical habit.
