Overview

The Raymarine T70428 is an Axiom XL 19 multifunction display kit for glass-bridge helms, built around an 18.5-inch full HD IPS touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It gives larger boats a central display for chartplotting, radar, sonar module integration, cameras, autopilot control, digital switching, and onboard entertainment from a clean, buttonless helm layout.

This Axiom XL display runs on 12 V or 24 V DC systems with an 8 V to 32 V DC operating range and a 15 A fuse rating, making it suitable for a wide range of marine electrical installations. The unit is rated IPX6 and IPX7 for water ingress protection, with an operating temperature range from -25°C to +55°C for exposed helm stations, enclosed bridges, and demanding coastal or offshore use.

Connectivity is one of the main reasons to use this display in a larger navigation system. It includes three RayNet Ethernet ports, NMEA 2000 through DeviceNet, NMEA 0183, HDMI input and output, analog video input, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and support for remote chart storage through the included card reader.

The Axiom XL 19 is made for flush or surface mounting, so it fits well into modern glass-bridge dashboards, enclosed pilothouses, flybridges, and larger center consoles. Its overall dimensions are 461.78 mm wide, 289.44 mm high, and 174.95 mm deep including cables, so the mounting area should be checked carefully for panel space, rear clearance, cable bend radius, and service access.

The included right-angle power and data cabling helps with tight helm installations, but this is still a large-format display and should be planned as part of the full helm layout. Leave room for the remote card reader, network cables, HDMI cabling, NMEA connections, and any alarm or video wiring needed by the vessel.

Compatibility and integration

This display is a strong match for boats that already use Raymarine navigation electronics or are being refit around an Axiom family helm. It can sit at the center of a system with Raymarine radar, CHIRP sonar modules, RealVision 3D sonar through compatible external hardware, Evolution autopilot, FLIR thermal cameras, IP cameras, analog cameras, and other Axiom displays.

For fishing boats, cruising yachts, and offshore-capable vessels, the large display area makes split-screen operation more practical. A skipper can keep charts, radar, sonar, camera views, and vessel data visible without constantly changing pages, which is useful when running at night, crossing busy traffic areas, or managing a multi-station helm.

Electrical and network planning

The display has a maximum current rating of 9.5 A and uses a 15 A fuse rating. On boats with multiple displays, radar, cameras, sonar modules, and digital switching, the power feed and grounding should be planned as part of the whole electronics network rather than treated as a small accessory connection.

RayNet Ethernet handles high-bandwidth marine data between compatible Raymarine devices, while NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 provide routes for data from sensors and legacy equipment. HDMI and video connections add flexibility for engine room monitoring, crew cameras, FLIR thermal imaging, remote PC display, and below-deck monitoring screens.
