Overview
The Simrad 000-16450-001 is a suncover that fits the Simrad NSS 4-12 display and protects the screen when the unit is not in use. It goes on after you power down, helping keep sun, salt mist, and dockside grime off the glass while the boat sits at the slip or on the trailer.
This is a simple, no-wiring accessory, and it is useful on boats where the helm is exposed to weather, spray, or constant foot traffic around the console. It ships in a 16 x 10 x 2 in package and weighs about 0.95 lb.
Key features
- Made to match the Simrad NSS 4-12 display size and front profile
- Helps reduce scratches and scuffs from gear, lines, and covers rubbing against the screen between trips
- Keeps fingerprints and salt film off the glass so the display is ready to use without a full wipe-down
- No wiring required; install and remove by hand as part of your normal shut-down routine
- Ships about 0.95 lb (package approx. 16 x 10 x 2 in)
Compatibility and fit
Fit is specific to the NSS 4-12. If your boat has a different NSS 4 screen size or an older Simrad display generation, this cover will not match the bezel and edges the same way.
If the display is mounted tight in a pod or dash recess, make sure you still have enough access to place the cover over the front and pull it back off without prying against the dash surface.
Installation and day-to-day use
Before fitting the cover, wipe the display face so grit is not trapped against the screen. Once the boat is shut down, place the cover over the front of the unit and press it on evenly. Remove it before powering up so the display can ventilate normally and you can see status lights and prompts.
This is a good match for center consoles, dual station boats, and any helm that lives outside under a T-top or canvas, especially when the boat spends long stretches at the dock.
Care and storage
Rinse salt and dust off with fresh water and wipe with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive pads that can haze or scratch the surface. When not in use, store it where it will not get stepped on or bent under heavy gear.
We ship all in-store (FL) stock orders the same day if placed before 3 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Orders placed after this time will ship the next business day.
