Overview
The Garmin 010-11617-10 is a 10 ft (3 m) 4-pin transducer extension cable that adds extra reach between a compatible Garmin transducer and your sonar unit.
It comes in handy when the transducer lead is just a little short after routing through a rigging tube, under the deck, or up to a helm. Using an inline extension keeps the original transducer cable intact, so you can avoid cutting and splicing on the boat.
Key features
- Adds 10 ft (3 m) of length to a 4-pin transducer cable run
- Connects inline between a 4-pin transducer plug and a compatible sonar unit connection
- Compatible with common Garmin echo models that use a 4-pin transducer connection, including echo 100, echo 150, echo 200, echo 300c, echo 500c, and echo 550c
- Keeps the transducer lead uncut when you need to re-route the cable to a new mounting location
- Useful for longer runs through consoles, under-gunnel chases, and clean helm installations
Compatibility and fit
This cable is for systems that use a Garmin 4-pin transducer connector. It extends the existing connection path and does not convert between different connector styles.
Before ordering, confirm you have a 4-pin transducer plug and a matching 4-pin connection at the sonar unit end. If your boat has a different Garmin transducer connector style, this is not the right extension.
Installation and routing
Plan the run so the connection lands in a dry, serviceable spot inside the console or behind the dash rather than in the bilge. Leave enough slack to unplug the connector without straining the cable, and secure the run so it cannot chafe on sharp fiberglass edges or vibrate against other wiring.
For clean sonar performance, route the transducer cable away from high-current engine and accessory wiring where possible. When pulling through tight rigging tubes, pull on the cable jacket and not the connector.
Use on board
This extension is a good match for boats where the transducer is mounted on the transom and the display is at the helm, and the cable path ends up longer than expected after a tidy install. It also helps when you move a fishfinder to a new bracket location and the original transducer lead no longer reaches cleanly.
