Overview
The Lumitec 101922 is a surface-mount LED engine room and utility light for 10-30V DC systems. It’s fully sealed to IP67 and built for machinery spaces, with certified ignition protection and an intrinsically safe design. Output is cool white at 6500K with 530 lumens from an 11W load.
Its low-profile footprint (5.00 in wide, 2.5 in high, 0.63 in deep) makes it easy to add light where a bulky fluorescent fixture never fit. This is the kind of fixture you mount over service points in an engine room, generator space, pump bay, or locker so you can see wiring colors, hose runs, and leaks without chasing shadows.
Key features
- 10-30V DC input for both 12V and 24V banks
- Draws about 900 mA at 12V and 450 mA at 24V (11W)
- Cool white output at 6500K with CRI 70+
- 530 lumens of white light for close-up maintenance work
- IP67 sealed housing for damp compartments and washdown exposure
- Certified ignition protected and intrinsically safe for machinery spaces
- Compact size: 5.00 in (W) x 2.5 in (H) x 0.63 in (D)
- Operating range: -35 to +55 C (-31 to 131 F)
Installation and setup
This is a straightforward surface-mount light. Pick a location that can throw light across the area you actually service, then route the wire exit in a way that avoids chafe points and heat sources. The fixture can run warm in normal use, so give it some air space and avoid installing it in a tight enclosure that traps heat.
Wire it to a switched DC feed and observe polarity, since it is polarity sensitive. In an engine room, sealed splices and strain relief matter more than fancy connectors, especially where oil mist and vibration are normal. Size wiring and overcurrent protection to match your run length and the unit’s current draw.
Use on board
The cool white output is helpful when you’re checking fluid levels, reading labels, or trying to spot a weep at a hose clamp. It’s a solid fit for boaters who want a dedicated service light in the engine room, generator compartment, or under-deck spaces where humidity and spray are part of everyday life.
