Overview
The Hella Marine 006801801 is a 2-pin waterproof plug and socket connector that gives you a sealed, disconnectable join in exposed marine wiring, with IP67 protection and screw terminals.
It is rated for extra-low voltage circuits up to 48 V and supports contact loads up to 16 A, making it a practical choice for many onboard DC runs where you want to unplug a device for service without leaving an open connection in the weather. The plug suits round cable up to 8.0 mm outer diameter, and the compact body is about 32 mm in diameter and about 90 mm in overall length.
The housing is impact-resistant plastic with silver contacts, and the socket includes a protective cap to keep the connection covered when it is not mated.
Key features
- 2-pin plug and socket connection with a threaded coupling that helps prevent accidental uncoupling
- IP67-rated sealing for wet areas and washdowns
- Screw-terminal wiring on the 2-pin connector for straightforward onboard installs
- Accepts conductors up to 4 mm² (without ferrules)
- Fits round cable up to 8.0 mm outer diameter
- Extra-low voltage use up to 48 V, with contact load up to 16 A
- Impact-resistant plastic housing with silver contacts, plus a socket cap for protection when unplugged
What’s included
- 2-pin plug
- 2-pin coupling socket
- Protective sealing cap for the socket
Installation and setup
This connector is typically used where a wiring run needs a clean break point, such as between a removable panel and a fixed harness, or at a deck or cockpit location where spray is expected. The 2-pin version uses screw terminals, so you can terminate the conductors directly inside the connector without special tools.
Plan your cable routing so the connector is not carrying the weight of the loom. A simple clamp or tie point close to the connector helps keep vibration from working the terminals over time. When the connector is unplugged, keep the socket capped to reduce salt buildup on the contact area.
Electrical and system integration
This is a low-voltage connector for onboard DC circuits up to 48 V. Match the circuit protection to the wiring and the connected load, and keep this style of connector out of shore-power or high-voltage AC applications.
Use on board
Common onboard uses include detachable deck equipment, removable lighting harnesses, hardtop and T-top accessories, cockpit gear that gets pulled for storage, and service disconnects where a connection is exposed to spray. It is a good match for boats that need a compact, sealed 2-wire disconnect that can be opened without turning the area into an open terminal strip.
