Overview
The TACO Marine V21-9939WHA20 is a 3" x 3/4" commercial rigid vinyl rub rail supplied in a 20 ft length in white. It is made for boats that need a taller protective rail along the hull-to-deck joint, with a profile that works without a separate insert.
This rub rail is a practical fit for work boats, tenders, utility boats, and other vessels that see regular dock contact, rafting, loading, or service use. The rigid vinyl construction can be cut and drilled with standard woodworking tools, which helps during replacement work where the rail needs to be trimmed and fastened to match the existing run.
Key features
- 3" high x 3/4" wide profile gives the hull edge a substantial rub surface for everyday dock and piling contact.
- 20 ft length in white for matching light-colored hulls or replacing an existing white rub rail section.
- Rigid vinyl construction is UV stabilized and high-impact resistant for exposed marine use.
- No separate insert is required, keeping the profile simple and reducing the number of parts needed during installation.
- Cuts and drills with standard woodworking tools for trimming, fastening, and fitting on board.
- Requires heat for radius forming, which is important when planning bends around corners or curved sections of the boat.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
Before ordering, compare the existing rub rail profile to the 3" height and 3/4" width, and check the mounting surface along the hull-to-deck joint. This is a rigid rail, so layout and dry fitting matter, especially on boats with tight radius corners or uneven older mounting surfaces.
For straight runs, the rail can be cut to length and drilled for fasteners using common woodworking tools. For curved sections, gradual heat is needed to form the vinyl without forcing the profile. Take care to support the rail evenly while forming so the finished run sits cleanly against the boat.
Use on board
This rail makes sense for boats that spend time around docks, commercial slips, working harbors, launch ramps, and service yards where hull edges take repeated contact. It is also useful for refits where the goal is a clean protective rub rail without adding a separate insert strip.
Owners and yards should match the profile, color, and length to the vessel before installation, then plan fastener spacing and corner forming based on the boat’s existing rub rail path.
