The Vimar 8000 Series is a 1-module cover plate range for 60 mm round mounting boxes that uses snap fixing and pairs with mounting frame 08501. It finishes a single Vimar 8000 device position and supports horizontal or vertical installation, with halogen-free construction, a matt surface, and an IP00 rating.

On board, this is the visible trim piece that gives an interior switch or control point a finished front once the insert and frame are in place. The label space is useful where circuits need clear identification, and the choice of resin or anodized aluminium helps match the plate to the surrounding panel or joinery.

This cover plate range is offered in four finish and material options.

What changes between variants is the finish, the base material, and the face dimensions. The ivory resin version measures 83 x 103 x 6 mm, while the anodized aluminium versions measure 79.5 x 79.5 x 6 mm. The 1-module format, snap-fix mounting, 60 mm box fit, frame 08501 compatibility, horizontal or vertical orientation, halogen-free construction, matt finish, and IP00 rating stay the same across the range.

• VM08605.A: ivory thermoplastic resin, 83 x 103 x 6 mm. This version uses a rectangular face that is taller than the aluminium options and suits lighter interior panels.
• VM08605.BR: bronze anodized aluminium, 79.5 x 79.5 x 6 mm. It uses the square face shared by the aluminium versions and gives the installation a warmer metal tone.
• VM08605: gold anodized aluminium, 79.5 x 79.5 x 6 mm. It keeps the same square aluminium profile with a lighter metallic finish.
• VM08605.N: black anodized aluminium, 79.5 x 79.5 x 6 mm. It gives the plate a darker appearance that blends in more easily on black or dark-painted panels.

Compatibility and fit

This range stays in the same 1-module format across all versions, so the main fit points to check are the 60 mm round box and the use of frame 08501. It is suitable for built-in installation and can also be used in wall duct or subfloor installation duct box layouts where that wiring method is already part of the project.

Use on board

On a boat, these cover plates make the most sense in cabins, saloons, enclosed helm areas, and other interior switch positions that stay out of direct spray. The IP00 rating means this is not a sealed exterior cover, so open deck locations and washdown zones need a different level of protection.

This range is a good match for refits or new builds that already use Vimar 8000 modules and need a tidy single-module finish in resin ivory or metal tones that work with darker joinery, painted panels, or metallic trim.
