Overview
The Garmin 010-11932-01 is a suction cup mount that lets you position a compatible Garmin navigator on a windshield or any smooth, flat surface.
It uses a 0.67 in (17 mm) ball joint, so it matches Garmin cradles and brackets that clamp to the common 17 mm ball size. On a boat, it is most practical for temporary setups at an enclosed helm or inside the cabin where the surface stays clean and dry.
The navigation device is not included, which makes this a straightforward spare mount or an easy way to move an existing unit between vehicles and the boat.
Key features
- Suction-cup base attaches to smooth, flat surfaces such as glass or polished fiberglass for a removable mount point
- 0.67 in (17 mm) ball joint interface for Garmin mounts that use the 17 mm ball standard
- Ball-and-socket adjustment makes it easier to aim the screen and manage glare at the helm
- No-drill mounting option for short-term installs, rentals, or moving a portable navigator between boats
- Useful as a spare mount location so the device can be stowed quickly when leaving the vessel
Installation and setup
Start with a clean surface that is free of dust, sunscreen, and salt residue, then press the suction cup firmly and lock it in place. A lightly dampened surface can help it seal on glass, but standing water will make it slip.
Once mounted, attach your Garmin cradle or bracket to the ball joint, set the viewing angle, and re-check the hold after a few minutes of vibration. Temperature swings and hull pounding can loosen suction mounts over time, so a quick check before getting underway is worth it.
Compatibility and fit
This mount is built around the 17 mm ball joint size. It is intended for Garmin navigator mounts and cradles that clamp onto a 17 mm ball. If your existing bracket uses a different ball size, it will not seat correctly.
Use notes on board
For open cockpits and wet decks, a suction cup mount is usually a short-term option. If the mounting surface gets sprayed or the boat runs in heavy chop, plan on stowing the unit or switching to a fixed, screw-down mount for longer runs.
This mount is a good match for boaters who want a removable setup for dockside planning, occasional trips, or bringing a portable navigator aboard without committing to holes in the dash.
