Overview

The Vimar Idea is a blank module used to close an unused position in a compatible Idea installation. It takes up 1 module, has a grooved front, and uses a built-in mounting method with claw fastening. The housing is thermoplastic, halogen-free, and finished with a matt surface, with overall dimensions of 24.80 mm wide, 50.20 mm high, and 20.50 mm deep.

This is a non-powered insert with a nominal voltage of 0 V and no monitoring contact, so its job is panel finishing rather than switching. On a boat, it makes sense when an interior switch bank, cabin panel, or service area already uses Vimar Idea components and one opening needs to be closed off neatly after a refit or a layout change.

Variants

This product is offered in two color configurations within the same Idea 1-module format.

The difference between variants is the front color. The module size, grooved front style, thermoplastic construction, halogen-free composition, matt finish, and built-in claw mounting remain the same across both versions.

• 16540, Color Gray. This version matches grey Idea installations and corresponds to a RAL 7015-like shade.
• 16540.B, Color Ivory. This lighter version corresponds to a RAL 9001-like shade and suits panels finished in the ivory or white side of the Idea range.

Compatibility and fit

This module is made for the Vimar Idea system and fills one module position, so fit depends on the surrounding frame and support already belonging to that range. It is useful when a switch, outlet, or control point has been removed and the opening needs a finished closure without changing the rest of the panel layout.

Use on board

It suits installers and boat owners tidying up an existing interior electrical panel, or leaving a reserved position closed until another Idea module is added later. In practical terms, it keeps the panel face consistent and avoids leaving an exposed opening in places such as cabins, consoles, and service spaces where Idea modular hardware is already in use.
