Sierra's fuel pump diaphragm kit has high-quality components to ensure maximum performance and dependability. Diaphragm pumps work using a composite membrane that bends up and down over a fuel bowl. The bowl contains an input and an output, each with a check valve to secure a one-way fluid flow. As the diaphragm rises, it generates a vacuum that draws gasoline from the fuel tank into the fuel bowl.

Flexing the diaphragm reduces or increases the capacity of the pump chamber. The camshaft operates a lever on the pump, which pulls down the diaphragm and allows the pump to pull fuel. A diaphragm spring forces the diaphragm up, allowing the pump to release gasoline.
