Overview

The Jl Audio 010-13554-00 is a 2-channel 1.5 ft (0.46 m) RCA audio interconnect cable (JL Audio XMD-WHTAIC2-1.5) used to carry a left and right line-level signal from a stereo, media master, or zone output to an amplifier input on a boat.

It uses OFC copper conductors with polyethylene dielectrics, laid in a twisted-pair arrangement to help keep alternator whine and other onboard noise out of the audio signal. The white, small-diameter PVC jacket and molded connector bodies make routing easier behind a helm or inside cabinetry, and the machined, nickel-plated brass contacts keep the connection secure.

This length makes sense when components are mounted close together, such as inside a dash console, behind a bulkhead access panel, or in a small equipment locker where extra slack would have to be coiled.

Installation and setup

Connect one end to the RCA output pair on your source or signal processor and the other end to the amplifier RCA input pair. Keep left and right channels consistent end-to-end so stereo balance stays correct.

For the cleanest results, route this cable away from high-current power and charging wiring where possible. If it must cross power cables, crossing at a right angle helps minimize induced noise. Support the run so it cannot vibrate against sharp edges or get pinched by access panels.

Compatibility and fit

This cable is intended for standard line-level RCA audio connections. It works anywhere you need a short stereo link between marine audio components that use RCA inputs and outputs, including stereos, media masters, DSP or zone devices, and amplifiers.

It is not a speaker cable and it is not meant for directly powering speakers. Use it only on the low-level RCA signal side of the system.

Care and storage

When working in salt air and high-vibration areas, check that the RCA plugs stay fully seated and that the jacket is not chafed where it passes through cutouts. If the connection point is in a compartment that can see spray, keep the RCA ends positioned where they are protected from direct water exposure.
