Installation and setup

For a better bond, remove old gasket material, adhesive residue, salt, wax, and dirt before applying the tape. The surface should be dry and clean, and the tape should be pressed firmly into place along the hatch frame or mating edge without stretching it during installation.

On tight corners, apply the tape carefully so it follows the shape of the frame without buckling. After installation, close the hatch and check that the tape compresses evenly without forcing the latch or holding the lid out of alignment.

Use on board

This tape is a practical fit for owners replacing worn hatch gasket material, quieting noisy lids, or refreshing the seal around live wells and storage enclosures. It works best where the hatch surface gives the foam enough compression to seal, but still allows the lid or door to close normally.
