Overview

The Jabsco 43210-0001 is a bracket-mount engine cooling water pump for MerCruiser inboard and stern drive engines that replaces Quicksilver 46-72774 A32. It uses 1-1/4 inch hose barb ports and is rated for 20 GPM at 1500 rpm.

The one-piece bronze body, neoprene impeller, stainless steel shaft, lip-type seal, and twin single-row ball bearings fit the raw-water side of an engine cooling system. A replaceable wearplate keeps routine service more practical when the pump is opened for impeller work.

Compatibility and fit

This pump follows the MerCruiser bracket-mount layout rather than a generic flange pattern, so the key fit points are the bracket style, pulley arrangement, and hose size. The lower port is the inlet and the upper port is the outlet. It accepts stock MerCruiser drive pulleys, but the pulley and the four pulley fasteners are separate items during installation.

It suits replacement work on boats that already use the Quicksilver 46-72774 A32 pattern and need to keep the original bracket and belt-driven setup. That makes it a practical match for many inboard and stern drive engine rooms where service access and parts interchange matter more than changing the whole pump arrangement.

Installation and service

On stamped steel brackets, mounting uses three 5/16-18 x 3/4 inch hex screws and three 5/16 inch lock washers that come with the pump. On cast iron clamp-type brackets, the pump slides into the bracket and is aligned to the pulley before the clamp is tightened.

The end cover can often be reached for impeller service without changing the whole installation layout, and the replaceable wearplate helps when internal wear starts to affect pump performance. On engines with a transmission cooler, the end cover also includes a 1/8 inch pipe plug connection for the cooler feed line.
