Overview
The Raymarine A80350 is a CPT-120 bronze through-hull CHIRP DownVision transducer with a high-speed fairing block for boats that need clean sonar readings from a permanent hull-mounted installation. It reads depth and temperature, uses separate DownVision and fishfinder sonar elements, and is built for hulls with 0 to 25° of deadrise.
This transducer is a good fit for owners adding or replacing a Raymarine DownVision through-hull sensor on fiberglass or wood hulls. Its bronze body suits below-waterline installation, while the fairing block helps the face of the transducer sit at a better angle to the water flow on faster hulls.
Key fit details include a 33 ft cable, 25° and 60° beam widths, and maximum depth ratings of 600 ft for DownVision and 900 ft for fishfinder sonar. It works with compatible Raymarine CP100, a68, and a78 sonar systems.
Key features
- CPT-120 through-hull transducer for Raymarine CHIRP DownVision and fishfinder sonar.
- Bronze construction for below-waterline mounting on compatible fiberglass and wood hulls.
- High-speed fairing block helps reduce turbulence around the transducer face for better sonar contact with the water.
- Reads depth and water temperature, giving the helm practical information for navigation, fishing, and bottom awareness.
- Maximum depth capability of 600 ft for DownVision and 900 ft for fishfinder sonar.
- 25° and 60° beam widths support detailed bottom imaging and fishfinding coverage.
- 33 ft cable gives more routing flexibility from the hull location to the display or sonar module.
- Supports hull deadrise angles from 0 to 25°.
Installation and fit
The A80350 is intended for a through-hull installation, so it requires a properly drilled hull opening and careful bedding below the waterline. The included fairing block is used to compensate for hull angle and help keep the transducer aligned with the water flow, which is important on planing boats and other hulls that run at speed.
Before installation, confirm the mounting area has enough inside-hull access for the stem, nut, cable routing, and service work. The transducer should be positioned where it stays in clean water and away from heavy aeration caused by strakes, intakes, discharge fittings, or prop wash.
Compatibility and system integration
This CPT-120 transducer is made for compatible Raymarine DownVision systems, including CP100, a68, and a78 units. It is not a universal NMEA 2000 sensor and should be matched to the correct Raymarine sonar input before purchase.
The 33 ft cable should be routed with protection from sharp edges, heat, and moving machinery. On boats with crowded bilges or engine spaces, leave enough service loop so the connection can be inspected without pulling on the cable.
Use on board
This transducer suits fishing boats, cruisers, and workboats where a fixed through-hull sonar installation is preferred over a transom mount. It gives the skipper bottom detail, fishfinder information, depth, and temperature from a sensor mounted in a stable location below the waterline.
It is especially useful when the boat needs DownVision performance without relying on a bracket at the transom, where turbulence, trim angle, or trailer handling can make installation more exposed.
