Overview
The Raymarine A06074 is an in-line SeaTalkng terminator that combines backbone termination with a single spur connection at the end of the network. It is used where a device needs to connect at the end of a SeaTalkng backbone and there is not enough room, or no practical way, to fit a separate backbone terminator and T-piece.
This part belongs at the end of the backbone, not in the middle of the network. Two terminators are required per SeaTalkng system, one at each end, so the network can communicate cleanly and stay stable as displays, sensors, and other SeaTalkng devices share data.
For a boat owner or installer, this is the piece that helps finish the network correctly while still leaving a spur connection available at the backbone end. It makes sense on compact helm layouts, sensor runs that land at the end of the backbone, and retrofit jobs where connector space is limited.
Key features
- Combines a SeaTalkng backbone terminator and one spur connection in a single in-line fitting
- Fits at the end of the SeaTalkng backbone where end termination and a device connection are needed in the same location
- Two terminators are required per system, one for each end of the backbone
- Useful when a separate standard terminator and T-piece would take up too much space
- Helps complete the network correctly so connected SeaTalkng equipment can exchange data without backbone termination issues
Compatibility and fit
This terminator is for Raymarine SeaTalkng networks and should be used only as an end-of-backbone component. It suits installations where a sensor or other SeaTalkng device needs to be connected right at the backbone end rather than from a separate T-piece further along the run.
It is a good match for refits and smaller network layouts where available space behind the helm, under the dash, or inside a pod is tight. On larger systems, it is also useful when the physical end of the backbone lands close to the device being connected.
Installation and setup
Network planning matters with SeaTalkng. This part should be placed at one end of the backbone, with a second terminator at the opposite end of the same backbone. If the network is left unterminated or terminated incorrectly, data traffic across instruments and sensors can become unreliable.
Before ordering, check that your layout calls for an in-line terminator rather than a standard backbone terminator and separate connector. That is the main fit decision with this item.
