Overview
The Raymarine E70638-00-NAG is an Axiom+ 12 multifunction chartplotter with a 12.1-inch IPS touchscreen and Navionics+ North America chart card for helm navigation, system monitoring, and networked electronics control. It runs on 12 V DC with an 8 V to 16 V DC operating range, uses a bright 1800-nit display, and carries IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof ratings for exposed helm and cockpit installations.
This Axiom+ 12 is a chartplotter-only model with no built-in sonar, which makes it a clean fit for boats that already use external sonar modules or that primarily need navigation, radar, AIS, camera, autopilot, and NMEA 2000 integration. The display uses Raymarine LightHouse software and supports LightHouse Charts, Navionics, and C-MAP cartography, with a quad-core processor and 16 GB solid-state internal storage for charts, user data, and apps.
For larger center consoles, cruisers, pilothouse boats, and sailboats, the 12-inch screen gives chart detail more room at the helm without moving into a full glass-bridge installation. The HydroTough oleophobic touchscreen coating helps shed water, oil, and fingerprints, so touch control stays practical when the boat is wet or the screen is used often during a run.
Key features
- 12.1-inch IPS touchscreen with 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution, 24-bit color, and 88-degree viewing angles from top, bottom, left, and right.
- 1800-nit screen brightness helps charts, radar, camera feeds, and data pages stay readable in open cockpit and flybridge light.
- IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof ratings support helm mounting where rain, spray, and washdowns are part of normal boat use.
- Built-in 10 Hz GNSS receiver tracks up to 28 satellites and supports GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou positioning.
- RayNet Ethernet port connects the display with compatible Raymarine radar, external sonar modules, IP cameras, and additional Axiom displays.
- NMEA 2000 connectivity through the DeviceNet port supports integration with compatible AIS, engine data, digital switching, audio, and autopilot systems.
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0 add wireless options for compatible updates, apps, and onboard control features.
- Supports surface, flush, and trunnion mounting, with a 12.36 in wide by 8.54 in high trunnion-mounted footprint and 7.01 in depth including cables.
- Navionics+ North America chart card is included for coastal and inland navigation coverage across the region.
Installation and setup
The unit can be mounted on its trunnion bracket for adjustable viewing or surface and flush mounted for a cleaner dash layout. Before cutting or drilling, confirm the available dash width, cable clearance behind the helm, and viewing angle from both seated and standing operating positions.
Power is supplied from a 12 V DC system, and the operating voltage range is 8 V to 16 V DC with a 7 A fuse rating. The included Power/NMEA 2000 cable has a 1.5 m power lead and a 0.5 m NMEA 2000 lead, which is useful when tying the display into an existing backbone near the helm.
Compatibility and system integration
This model connects to NMEA 2000 through its DeviceNet connection and can be adapted to SeaTalkng with the included 120 mm DeviceNet to SeaTalkng adaptor cable. That gives it a practical path into many Raymarine networks without forcing a complete electronics refit.
RayNet networking allows the display to sit at the center of a larger Raymarine electronics package. It can work with compatible Quantum, Digital, HD Color, Super HD Color, and Magnum radars, and it can connect with external sonar modules such as CP100, CP200, CP370, CP470, CP570, and RVX1000 through the network. It also supports compatible FLIR thermal cameras and Raymarine IP cameras for boats that use video at the helm.
Use cases on board
This Axiom+ 12 is a strong match for owners who want a large navigation display for cruising, fishing, or mixed coastal use, but do not need sonar built directly into the screen. It works well as the main helm display on a center console or cruiser, and it can also serve as part of a multi-display Raymarine network on a larger boat.
The included Navionics+ North America chart card makes the package especially practical for vessels operating in North American waters. For boats that already have radar, AIS, autopilot, or NMEA 2000 data on board, the display gives those systems a common interface with room to show split-screen views without crowding the chart.
