Overview
The Victron Energy SPR00053 is a replacement 500A PCB for the shunt used with Victron BMV 702 and BMV 712 battery monitors. It is the circuit board portion of the shunt assembly, made for service work when the existing shunt PCB needs to be replaced while keeping the compatible 500 Amp shunt and battery monitor system in use.
On a boat, the shunt is the measurement point for battery current, so a damaged or corroded board can interrupt useful battery monitoring even when the rest of the installation is still in place. This replacement PCB helps restore the connection between the shunt and the BMV monitor without replacing the full monitoring display.
It suits marine DC power systems where a BMV 702 or BMV 712 is already installed for house battery tracking, charging checks, inverter loads, or general energy management at the helm, nav station, or electrical panel.
Key features
- Replacement PCB only for the 500 Amp shunt used with Victron BMV 702 and BMV 712 monitors.
- Useful for maintaining an existing battery monitor installation without changing the display head.
- Helps restore shunt signal function when the board on the compatible shunt assembly needs service.
- Fits into Victron BMV battery monitoring setups commonly used for marine house banks, charging systems, and DC load tracking.
- Service part format keeps the repair focused on the shunt electronics rather than the complete monitor system.
Compatibility and fit
This PCB is for the 500 Amp shunt associated with Victron BMV 702 and BMV 712 monitors. It is not a complete shunt assembly, a battery monitor display, or a universal DC meter part. Before ordering, match the existing monitor model and confirm that the service issue is with the shunt PCB rather than the cabling, display, fuse, or battery-side connections.
Installation and setup
Installation should be handled with the DC system safely isolated, especially on boats with inverter chargers, solar charging, alternator charging, or multiple battery banks. The shunt area should be de-energized before any work begins, and all conductors should be secured again exactly as required for the existing battery monitor installation.
Because the PCB mounts at the shunt, it should live in a protected electrical space rather than an exposed bilge or splash area. A dry location with secure wiring support helps reduce problems from vibration, salt air, and accidental contact during routine battery maintenance.
Use cases on board
This part is a practical match for owners and installers maintaining a Victron BMV 702 or BMV 712 system on cruising boats, fishing boats, and sailboats where battery state information is already part of daily operation. It is most relevant when the monitor system is worth keeping and the goal is to service the shunt electronics rather than replace the full monitoring setup.
